The New North End - 46-64 Maplewood Ave

Going way back, this stretch of roadway was first known as Mill Street, and then, North Road.

In 1887 the town decided to plant a total of 138 maples down both sides of this street! Within 15 years, it was being called Maplewood Avenue.

More recently, before this was the site of a soon-to-be development, you may have just noticed that it was nothing more than a large parking lot towards the edge of our city of Portsmouth.

Due to the size and shape of this lot, the planning evolved to be a collection of smaller uniquely designed buildings. All interiors will feature single floor plans with a mix of condo flats and townhomes.

This development's vision, including, widened sidewalks and green spaces with smaller pedestrian ways carved out between adjacent structures was conceived to add to the character of the block and the pedestrian nature of this new North End!

This mixed-use project remains in the design and development stage but will feature dwelling units and retail space.
